About Us
A Pendle firm which started out as a one man
band and now carries out decorating contracts all over Europe – is
celebrating 30 years in business.
Despite its expansion and success George
Boocock Decorators Ltd is still very much a local firm, with most of its
22 directly employed workforce living in the Burnley and Pendle area
Yet it is capable of carring out large scale
decorating contracts here and abroad in everything from hospitals to
superstores and factories.
Managing director Mr George Boocock set up the
company in his home town of Earby 30 years ago as a solo operation, and
has built the firm in partnership with wife, Mrs Sandria Boocock, who is
now the company secretary
Mr Boocock said. “We would like to thank all
our customers and suppliers for the support they have given us over the
past 30 years and for standing by us.
“We now work all over the country and we have
also carried out contracts in Europe, including France and Holland”
He praised the loyal support of the Boocock team,
which has helped the company expand and earn a first class reputation.
George Boocock Decorators Ltd works closely
with a number of building and development companies, including Craig
Hambling, Barnfield Construction, Penyard and Nelson Joinery and Building
Ltd.
It has also carried out a number of big schemes
with Nelson Joinery for Pendle based Boundary Mill Stores, decorating four
of its huge superstores up and down the country
Recently, it has completed work for Total Fitness
Centres, a chain of large all in one exercise complexes. Mr Boocock
said.” We carry out work across the region, mainly on commercial and
industrial projects. No job is too big for us these days. We now have the
ability to take on the largest jobs”.
Our work for Total Fitness Centres has included
decorating their new centres at Whitefield in Manchester and Dublin, we
are currently working on Altringham and we still have to do Wakefield and
Doncaster.
The firm has also been selected to decorate a
brand new stately home in Cheshire for a famous –name businessman.
The firm retains its local roots, George Boocock
Decorators Ltd has recently moved – but only next door. It took over a
larger unit at the Barnfield Business Centre in Brunswick St Nelson,
offering more storage and workshop facilities. Mrs Boocock said, “We
needed more space to meet our expanding needs and moving to the next unit
was idea”.
“We still have our feet very much in this
area”
To prove the point, Clarets mad Mr & Mrs Boocock
have just offered the services of their company to repaint the Bob Lord
Stand at Turf Moor free, to help cash –strapped Burnley FC
Mr Boocock said. “We wouldn’t move out of the
area. We live locally, and the lads who work for us do. We are five
minutes from the motorway network, so it’s no problem”
The company’s contracts manager is Mr Brian Yeoman,
and the sales administrator is George’s daughter Lyndsey.
So George Boocock Ltd may be a firm with its feet
firmly in the area – but it has the world at its feet in terms of
commercial decorating.
